Quick post because there are so many things to do!
I arrived in London just fine, and the past day and a half, while hectic, have certainly not been boring! Today was a little more organized than yesterday, which is probably a good thing, because yesterday was chaos, and everyone was jet lagged. Not a good combination.
I’m currently attending the UC Education Abroad Program’s orientation with students going to Queen Mary, King’s College (also in London), Royal Holloway, and University of Kent. I’m meeting lots of people, making friends, etc. etc. (you can fill in the details). It’s a good group of people and I’m really excited.
Tourist-y highlights include:
But for me the real best part has been getting to meet other people here. I had a ten or fifteen minute discussion of Star Wars at dinner tonight that included at least six participants — we were having a geek-off and boy was it fun! I’ve been lucky, and met a lot of people who are going to Queen Mary from other UCs who seem like really great people.
Tomorrow the orientation ends and I actually move in to my room at Queen Mary. I don’t know when I’ll have internet next, but I promise to try and keep you updated on my many adventures. Cheers!
